Opera

Acadeny of Music, Philadelphia
If you follow my Blog, you already know that opera is one of the great passions of my life.   I can still remember the thrill of my very first opera, La Traviata, at the Academy of Music in Philadelphia.  I was seven years old, and the excitement I felt as the lights dimmed and the orchestra began that beautiful prelude has never diminished......all these years and thousands of performances later, all over the world.  (I kid you not!  I have two huge steamer trunks full of nothing but opera programs, and I'm running out of room!!)

And, if you follow my Blog, you also know that, from time to time, I like to slip in a little something operatic into my posts, when appropriate -- nothing too "inside baseball," mind you, but just enough, I hope, to make it entertaining and enlightening, whether or not you know anything about the art form.
