  2. Dearest Marie-Thérèse,
Hope you are coping with summer's heat! Here it is very hot and humid and I surely enjoy wearing my dresses from Rayon that I found at TJ Maxx. Flared skirts and light and cool...
You mention here above simple summer chic. Simple yes, but any garment that is frayed and or torn I simply cannot call 'chic'. That would be an insult to the French language and its meaning... Not a single hair on my head would ever think about spending a penny on such clothes. Love the romper in your photos above! That is cute and looks very comfy and cool to wear.
For me simple and chic means more the wear of comfy, 100% natural fiber (or at least 96%) especially during summer time.
    Enjoy your summer!
    Hugs,
    Mariette

    1. Dearest Mariette,

I understand completely your horror at holes and frays in fabric, which we would not wear at our age; however, they look super cute on the younger girls and the tops would work beautifully on "intact" bottoms for those of us of a certain age, don't you think? I, too, love natural fibers, but a touch of synthetic is not against the rules.

It has been terribly hot and humid here, as well. I'm bearing up as well as can be expected.

      Big bisous, ma chère amie,

      M-T

    2. Dearest Marie-Thérèse,
No it is not against the rules but against the comfort of natural fibers against synthetics. This is one BIG reason whey we love the bedlinens (outlet of course) from Yves Delorme, Paris as they know the secret of a good night sleep on soft, quality cotton is priceless. Guess that lots of people buy polyester just because of so-called easy care...
Isn't it funny how we all long for spring and when we live through this high humidity and heat again, we long for cooler days.
Try to stay cool by wearing comfy clothing, shoes and drinking plenty of water.
      Hugs,
      Mariette

  3. Lovely collage of simple pieces. I agree keeping summer dressing as easy and practical as possible is essential.
